Project Description: C.S. Davidson, Inc. is providing all survey and design services for the replacement of this 90' long, 2-span truss structure. C.S. Davidson has obtained final approvals from the York County Conservation District and PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and preliminary approval from the PA Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC). A public meeting was held in 1999 to review the conceptual plans with residents and public officials. This bridge and surrounding buildings are known as the Strickler's Mill Rural Historic District and final design will try to minimize visual impacts on the historic property. Colored concrete which gives the appearance of fieldstone and weathering steel guide rail will be utilized to reduce adverse visual impacts. The proposed bridge and east approach will be constructed on a horizontal curve to improve the roadway geometry and preserve all nearby buildings. |
