Project Description: Cousler Park was originally developed on a 52-acre parcel donated to Manchester Township by Morgan and Ethel Cousler. C.S. Davidson, Inc. completed the Park Master Plan in 1993 and designed numerous projects outlined in the plan, including the addition of two regulation-sized soccer fields. The acquisition of adjacent properties over the years has more than doubled the Park’s size to 110 acres, necessitating an update to the original master plan. C.S. Davidson, working with the Township and landscape architect Yost Strodoski Mears (YSM), developed a multiple-phase park improvement project to address the needs highlighted in the revised plan.
C.S. Davidson provided design, contract documents, required permitting and contract administration for the construction of Phases I and II of the improvement project. These improvements included: grading of baseball and soccer fields; construction of a restroom/concession/pavilion building; water main installation; stormwater management and conveyance system installation; sanitary sewer installation; basketball court construction; and driveway and parking lot construction.
C.S. Davidson, in conjunction with YSM, architect JWF Collaborative and electrical consultant Barton Associates, completed design of the final phases of the Park’s improvements. C.S. Davidson was responsible for permit requirements, contract documents and administration of the contract for Phases III and IV, which included grading and fencing of athletic fields; construction of an amphitheater, maintenance building, and restroom/concession/pavilion building; stormwater management and conveyance system installation; sanitary sewer installation; drive entrances and parking lot improvements; construction and installation of two playgrounds; various other park amenities; and landscaping. Construction was completed in 2006. |
