Project Description: C.S. Davidson, Inc. worked with a planning committee consisting of the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, and Zoning Hearing Board members to prepare an update to East Manchester Township’s 1992 Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan Update was completed on schedule and within budget.
A community survey provided resident input as well as verification and validation of community goals. The original goals and strategies were reviewed and the maps and all relevant sections of the plan were updated. C.S. Davidson recommended significant changes, including a reduction in residential areas, additional land use area to provide for the future development of industrial areas, and a restricted development plan for agricultural areas.
The recommendations of the Comprehensive Plan Update have been successfully implemented in 2006 through changes to the Zoning Ordinance text and a new Zoning Map.
