Project Description: Prepared update to the West Manheim Township, York County Pennsylvania Official Sewage Facilities Plan (Act 537). Six service areas were analyzed as five-year or future sanitary sewer needs areas. The six service areas were as follows: Area 1 Oak Hill Area, Area 2 Myermont Area, Area 3 Fuhrman Mill Road Area, Area 4 Pleasant Hill Area, Area 5 Shorbs Hill Area and Area 6 Fairview Road Area. The Plan proposed the construction of a sanitary sewer collection system to serve Area 1 and 2. The recommended collection system will transport sewage to the Penn Township Wastewater Treatment Plant. It was recommended that before any additional areas are added to the sanitary sewer system that the economic feasibility of a West Manheim Township Wastewater Treatment Plant be evaluated. The sewer service areas will be part of a mandatory On-Lot Management District until such time that sanitary sewer is provided. The remainder of the Township is to be part of a voluntary On-Lot Management District. The plan also recommended the adoption of a Capped Sewer Ordinance specifically for the six service areas; the adoption of a Denitrification Agreement for the entire Township; the adoption of a Holding Tank Ordinance and a Small Flow Sewage Treatment Facility Agreement for the entire Township. |
