C.S. Davidson Announces Completion of Hershey School Project

C.S. Davidson, Inc., an employee-owned consulting engineering firm with offices in Lancaster, York and Gettysburg, is pleased to announce the completion of improvements at the Derry Township School District campus. C.S. Davidson was contracted by Hayes Large Architects, LLP to provide stormwater management design for several areas of the campus as well as structural engineering services for a music room addition at Hershey Elementary School.

Stormwater improvements included two new underground storage facilities at the High School/Middle School bus corral and a reconfigured Middle School parking lot; soil restoration to improve water infiltration rates at the improved Middle School lot; expansion of an existing underground storage facility at the Early Childhood Center bus corral; and installation of an organic water quality filter in the existing stormwater basin at the Middle School student drop off area.  In addition to designing these stormwater facilities, the firm also completed site layout and grading plan review, erosion and sedimentation control planning and NPDES permitting for the project. For the 60’ by 80’ one-story music room addition, C.S. Davidson provided structural engineering design of the steel roof joists, reinforced masonry walls, and spread concrete footings, as well as alterations to the roof framing of the existing adjacent corridor and the exterior entrance canopy.
