Description:

This project involved the construction of a new 140,000 S.F. museum and visitors center, along with the surrounding infrastructure.  The new building was constructed of structural steel framing and composite concrete floors.  It houses Civil War artifact displays in the museum gallery, two educational movie theaters, a bookstore, a restaurant and also an 80' high by 140' diameter cylindrical structure of the newly restored Cyclorama painting.  The facility is the first museum in the state of Penn. (fourth in nation) to achieve LEED® Gold certification.  C.S. Davidson, Inc. provided materials testing and special inspection services, including fire proofing inspections, for this unique project.
